Create a Market Area

A Market Area is a geographic zone containing people who are most likely to purchase a firm's goods or services. Intelidata Express allows the User to create a Market Area that will be used more than once to create an audience based upon the geographical criteria selected for the Market Area.

Step 1 On the Home page

  1. On the Home page, click the Tools tab
  2. Click the Market Area link

  1. Click the blue Create button
  2. Click the Market Area link

Step 3 On the Create Market Area page - Details section

  1. Type the name of the Market Area -you may enter a maximum of thirty-five (35) characters in this required field
  2. If you use more than one account, select the account this Market Area will be used by
  3. Select the marketer who will use this market area

Step 4 On the Create Market Area page - Geography Include section

On this tab you will select geographic criteria that will be INCLUDED in your market area audience - you must select a minimum of one geographical criterion to be included in this audience.

The geographic criteria include:

  • Zip Code Radius with a minimum and maximum area to be included. This can be further refined by selecting: Include all zips and states from this radius, Include only the state from the entered zip code or
  • Exclude the state from the entered zip code
  • Zip Codes
  • Area Codes
  • Cities
  • County/Counties
  • Direct Marketing Areas
  • Metro Statistical Areas
  • States
  • Nationwide. Nationwide can be refined by selecting contiguous or contiguous + non-contiguous.

On this tab you will select grographical criteria that will be EXCLUDED from Market Area audience.  Exclusions are not required.

Exclusions are:

  • Zip Codes
  • States
  • Area Codes
  • Cities
  • County/Counties
  • Metro Statistical Areas
  • Direct Marketing Areas

Step 6 Save

Once you have entered all of the criteria required for your Market Area, scroll to the top of the page and click the blue Save button.

Step 6 Save

The page will refresh and display a summary of the information you entered to create this Market Area.You may click the blue Action button to edit or delete the Market Area you have just saved.The Market Area is now available to use when creating an audience.
